“Studying metabolic interventions in cancer and inflammation”
Dr. Simone Cardaci, PhD
Cancer Metabolism Unit – IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele – Milan, Italy
Host: Prof. Maria Rosa Ciriolo
Dr. Simone Cardaci obtained his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Tor Vergata. After a successful experience as a Post-Doc in the lab of Prof. Eyal Gottlieb at the CRUK Beatson Institute, Glasgow (UK), since 2018 he is group leader of the Cancer Metabolism Unit at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele – Milan, Italy. Using analytical chemistry, cell biology and computational modelling-integrated approaches he aims at generating functional and mechanistic understanding of metabolic changes occurring in cancer and its microenvironment to reveal novel and effective therapeutic targets and strategies for the improved treatment of cancer patients.
