SUMMARY:Teams Talk - Dr. Guido Papa
DESCRIPTION:June 11\, 2021 at 14:30\nTeams Seminar\n“Role of SARS-CoV-2 Spike cleavage in virus entry and cell-cell fusion”\n– – –\nDr. Guido Papa\nPostdoctoral Scientist\nMRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology\,\nCambridge\, UK\n– – –\nHost: Prof. Gabriella Santoro\n  \nDr. Guido Papa is a Post Doctoral Scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Leo James at the MRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology\, Cambridge (United Kingdom). \nDuring his PhD\, Dr. Guido Papa was involved in projects regarding the development of systems to manipulate the viral genome of Rotavirus\, a double-stranded RNA virus among the important human and animal pathogens. He demonstrated that the hyperphosphorylation of the rotavirus non-structural protein 5 is essential for the formation of viral factories and an impairment of this post-translational modification cascade compromises viral replication. \nIn his current position\, he works on HIV capsid metastability during viral infections and its interacting with the innate immune sensing\, and the role of non-neutralizing antibodies in protection against Influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2. \n  \n
